About This Website
This website was created entirely by Team 696 students. The graphics, layout, coding, and content were developed entirely from scratch in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver, and the site is compliant with the W3C standards for XHTML 1.0 and CSS.
The site has integrated the CuteNews news management system to publish bulletins about our team's activities. It also includes a Guestbook developed by DigiOz, and the image gallery is integrated with Slimbox2.
Notable Features
Image Gallery
The image gallery is a script written by Team 696 students in PHP, designed to work with a JavaScript or jQuery-based image display script. The script loops through all the images in a specified file, and displays thumbnails for each image which link to a larger version. The script is integrated with Slimbox2, a jQuery-based script which displays each linked image above the rest of the content on the screen.
Online Application System
This system, authored in PHP by Team 696 students, allows prospective team members to apply online to Team 696. Applicants enter answers to application questions into a basic HTML form. They are given the option to preview their application, or submit. Teachers can also submit recommendation letters for prospective applicants via a separate online form. Once submitted, the applications and letters are stored in a MySQL database for later retrieval.
The applications and letters are retrieved in a separate, password-protected area. Team members must log in to the area with a username and password, and review the applications in their browser.
