2007 Activities
Team 696 has been up and rolling this build season. Our latest activity involved attending the Verdugo Woodlands Reading Night on February 28, where we were able to teach middle school students about robotics, discuss this year's game, and encourage them to pursue a career in engineering and science. Karo, our chief wing designer spoke about this year's build season and robot, while Dalar, also a student in the school's EAST program, demonstrated the school's $20,000 video ROV. I spoke about the 10th grade engineering club's ROV project, and students were able to drive around with the ROV in a mini blow-up pool. The activities of the reading night were featured in the Glendale News Press. The article can be found here.
Members of the team also participated in the GCC Tech Expo, where a preliminary Vex competition was held in advance of the actual FIRST Vex competition taking place in December. Members of Clark's own Vex team participated in the event.
In addition, several members of the team will be attending Yuri's Night at the Griffith Park Observatory on April 12 to discuss FIRST robotics.
