Sponsorship

Our team has been invited to Nationals, but in order to attend, we must fundraise and obtain roughly $20,000. It's be greatly appreciated if you could donate or sponsor our team.

We are currently looking for sponsors, donators, and partners to help us to continue with our participation in the FIRST robotics competition. Each year, the FIRST robotics build season requires expenses in excess of of $10,000. Registration to FIRST regionals (We attend the Los Angeles Regional every year, if you're interested in finding out more about the FIRST Robotics experience. This year, we're also going to San Diego.) cost $6,000, with an added $4,000 registration fee for additional regionals. This year, we have been kindly given grants by the Glendale Community College and NASA, but we are constantly in need of funds as costs of robot parts only rise. To help us meet the greater demands of recent competitions, and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Donations are tax-deductable. Please take a look at our team's downloadable Fundraising Brochure (Word Document), and a sample grant form can be found below:

Dear [Insert name of recipient],
Clark Magnet Robotics is a partnership that combines the resources of Clark Magnet High School for Science and Technology, Glendale Unified School District, Glendale Community College, and volunteer robotics engineers from NASA/JPL. The Robotics Team is a group of about seventeen students that are going to participate in the 2005 FIRST Robotics Competition. Our mentors, sponsors, and even individuals are donating time, money, and experience towards this annual contest. We hope that you will join the fun. Not only is it great entertainment, but it is also an excellent opportunity for the young adults to learn new skills, take on responsibility, and play as part of the team. We would like other adults and mentors to join us in this experience. FIRST “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology” is a non-profit organization, which greatly encourages young people to develop an interest in science and technology. Their way of generating this interest is through an annual robotics competition where students, teachers, mentors, and sponsors all contribute to build a robot to compete in a game that is different every year. The kickoff in January, the contestants have six weeks to design, build, program, and test their unique “champion” robot for an exciting and intense competition, which is held at regional sports arenas the United States. With annual expenditures of approximately $19,000 for shipping, registration fees, construction costs, and registration fees, we must work very hard to raise all of these funds essential to compete. We would like to suggest a grant. A suggested amount is from $1000 to $3000. We would like to schedule a meeting to discuss any way that you might be able to help us in reaching our fundraising goal. We will call within the next few days to plan a meeting. We would be happy to give you a demonstration of our previous robot at your request. We look forward to meeting you. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, [Insert name of sender]
